This book is an exciting adventure that I call The New*Gold Rush. I feel like Samuel Brannan did during the days of the California Gold Rush. He was the San Francisco merchant who walked through the streets, holding a vial of gold, shouting Gold! Gold! Gold from the American River!
There is a worldwide gold rush happening all around us—right now. I want you to find your gold and prosper in ways that you could only dream before. Now is the time to live your dreams*. There are opportunities everywhere. Seize them now.

Part 1 is My Road to Beverly Hills An Autobiography. This is my story. With God, you get 2nd chances—and in America, you get 2nd chances. That’s what my story is about. Never give up.
Part 2 is The New*American Dream New Strategies for America. That’s my vision for America. The New*American Dream: Every American healthy, wealthy and wise.
We have every reason to believe that our children and grandchildren can live a better life than we do. That is the hope and promise of America. The 20th century was the American Century. The 21st century will continue that trend as long as we work at it. We need to keep moving forward. China is already challenging us in a number of areas. We welcome the competition—it makes us better. The entire world will benefit as the U.S. and China raise the standard of living of all peoples. Our light needs to shine even brighter—to lead the way in this brave new world.
Here is something that every American needs to know. We need to continually open new markets around the world. The business of America—is business. When we stop growing our economy, we begin our decline. We owe it to future generations to keep the wheel of progress turning. I will update this section as the worldwide gold rush unfolds. I want you to find your gold mine and prosper in ways that you never imagined.
PART 3 INCLUDES A PROPHECY FOR HOLLYWOOD.
On 9.24.07 a massive paradigm shift occurred in Hollywood. A new organization was created in Beverly Hills called The New*Hollywood. It is totally transforming Hollywood—forever. It will dwarf the influence that the Disney Company has—and I greatly admire what Walt and Roy have built.
I want to let those who work in the entertainment industry know what this means for you. Your lives are about to change dramatically. For the good guys—this is great news. It’s happening so fast that most people can’t even see it—it’s a blur to them. The technology is exploding—and there is a gold rush to video. The technology is advancing rapidly. That’s where the Church comes in. We have sat on the sidelines too long. It’s time to get in the game. Our message remains constant—our methods change. This is a video generation. Video is not going away—it’s everywhere—and will continue to influence our lives even more. God created it for us to use. Hollywood is the seat of global influence. We have a mandate to take the lead in displaying the talent and creating the content that the world needs. My Early Years
I grew up in a blue collar city where steel mills were the main industry. Youngstown, Ohio was my birthplace. www.cityofyoungstownoh.org I was born on February 11, 1959. After I was born, my parents moved to the suburbs—a new subdivision in Boardman www.boardmantwp.com called Applewood Acres. There they launched their journey to live the American Dream.
My father, John, was a truck driver for most of his life. He retired from Roadway Express after 22 years. Dad co-owned a gas station and worked at various jobs until he joined Roadway Express. He served in World War 2 and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Dad was part of the 9th Armored Division that captured the Bridge over the Rhine River—and the first to cross it.
My mother, Elizabeth, was a homemaker most of her life. She worked part-time as a secretary while we were growing up. She took us to church every Sunday. We were Methodists in the beginning until we switched to a Lutheran church later on.
My early years were carefree. I grew up in a neighborhood with a lot of guys my age. We always had enough players to start a football, baseball or basketball game. We even had our own Olympics in the summers, with a variety of events to compete in. Our summer nights were spent sleeping out in each other’s backyards. On Friday nights, we would rotate homes for nights of indoor fun. We played pool, ping pong, chess, card games and darts.
I went to school in the Boardman system. www.boardman.k12.oh.us It was known for its excellent education. I have one brother, Roger, and one sister, Patti. They both live in Orlando, Florida.
Some of my fondest memories were of our family reunions at my aunt’s farm—in the hills near Ligonier, PA. Every July 4th, all of our extended family would converge on the farm for a day of food and fun. Every summer after the reunion, my brother, sister and cousins would stay on the farm for 2 weeks. We hiked, spent time with the cows and horses, and played cards and other board games until late into the night. My uncle Leon taught me to play chess during those summers.
High School
When I entered high school, my life became complicated. During my years in grades 5-8, I attended a middle school that was for kids on the south side of Market Street. The kids on the north side of Market Street went to another middle school. As we entered high school, our two groups merged into one. We used to be rivals, now we all attended the same high school. I developed a severe acne problem in middle school that became worse in high school. Needless to say, my self-esteem took a beating.
It was during my first year in high school that big things started happening in my life. The carefree early years were over. I got good grades and was fairly popular in middle school. Now I was a fish in a much bigger pond. During this time I had my first serious girlfriend. I also had an intense desire for a relationship with God. I prayed every night and talked to God, but I wasn’t a born-again Christian at that time. I don’t recall hearing the salvation message in my Methodist or Lutheran churches. So I reached out to God in my own way.
It was in the 9th grade that I was introduced to the drug culture. Boardman High was known as a quality school. It also was known as a school for an abundance of drugs. I was introduced to marijuana by a couple of my neighbors. I became a drug dealer. My high school years were spent under the influence of various kinds of drugs. Being a drug dealer gave me an identity that I could hold onto. I had no interest in public service—although I was elected to Student Council one year.
Baseball was the biggest constant in my life. I only had one dream in my life—to be a professional baseball player. When I realized that dream wasn’t going to come true—I was crushed. I didn’t have any other plan for my life. I didn’t want to be anything else. My father raised us with a strong work ethic. I got my first job in high school. I also played some football and ran track one year. My grades were average because I was partying instead of studying.
I was 17 when I got my 16 year old girlfriend pregnant. Instead of doing the right thing and marrying her, I insisted that she get an abortion. So we cut school one day and went across the state line to have an abortion in Pittsburgh, PA. Things were never the same between us after that, and we split up.
Let me reiterate that I grew up in a wonderful environment. I made some wrong choices that messed up my life for a while.
I almost didn’t graduate from high school. Because of my rebellious ways, my dad threw me out of the house 1 month before my graduation. He was right. So I stayed with a classmate’s family and barely made the attendance requirements to graduate. Somehow I still managed to graduate in the upper 1/3 of my class of 571 students.
Graduation
After graduation, my girlfriend’s dad secured a job for me in one of the local steel mills. It was a good paying job and I was thankful. I had plans to attend Youngstown State University at night and moved into a fraternity house for a while. All the while my drug use continued—and was getting worse. I finally started going to jail for various crimes. I lost my job at the mill and that’s when I hit rock bottom. I had no income and a serious drug habit. I had used every drug there was at that time. I was in more car accidents than I can count.
Mom and I Become Christians
During this time my mother became a born again Christian. She had some issues in her own life, and she had a dramatic conversion in 1979. She kept praying for me and telling me to turn my life over to God. After a few years, her persistence paid off. While sitting in a jail cell in February of 1982, I asked Jesus to be my Lord and Savior. I was then a born again Christian. What joy! It was like I had been running from God all those years and finally I was coming home—and God accepted me just like I was—a complete mess! What a relief. I read my Bible all the way through while sitting in jail. I then was accepted into a local Teen Challenge Center in lieu of further jail time.
Teen Challenge
Entering Teen Challenge www.teenchallengeusa.com was the best decision I made up until that point. I became a Christian on February 15, 1982 while in jail. After entering Teen Challenge, I was baptized in water. In March, I was baptized in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues.
Teen Challenge is like a military boot camp for new Christians. It’s a residential program where you are intensely immersed in the Christian lifestyle. The first person I led to Christ was my younger brother, Roger. He saw the change in my life and wanted some of that.
I was promoted to the staff and life was good. I hadn’t dealt with all of my past issues, however, and got into criminal trouble one last time. I went back to my drug habit and went to jail for a burglary charge—this time to state prison. After 6 months there, I went back to the same Teen Challenge and completed the 6 month program.
I then went on to complete the full discipleship program at the Teen Challenge Training Center in Rehrersburg, Pennsylvania. We called it God’s Mountain. This is where my life was changed for good. I spent 14 months there and graduated in July of 1985. It’s like a Bible college and ministry training center rolled into one. It was here that I felt the call of God on my life—although I didn’t really understand how it would be played out. All I knew was that I would be a leader in the church someday.
My Mentor Enters My Life
Early during my year there, I was privileged to meet the man who would be my mentor and spiritual father. His name is Dr. Ray Elder. He headed the public relations department and asked me to work for him as part of my vocational training. Working with Ray is the ultimate thrill ride. I got opportunities to speak in public early on—and I enjoyed talking to groups. I was trained in a wide variety of public forums. However, that was not the best thing about working for him—actually the correct term was working “with” him.
The greatest thing about Ray is that he demonstrated to me and others how Jesus lived with His followers. Ray and his wife Lynn lived among us and showed us how to live the Christian life 24/7/365—in good times and bad. This is how I really learned to live the Christian life. The training from Ray and Lynn has continued to this day—as they have many spiritual sons and daughters who they have adopted along the way. Evangel University
After graduating from Teen Challenge, I attended Evangel University www.evangel.edu for one year—from 1985 to 1986. I met Diane Seletyn there, and she would later become my wife. I took business and Bible courses there and dug my spiritual roots deeper. Evangel is an Assembly of God liberal arts college in Springfield, Missouri. After one year there, I felt God was leading me back to my hometown for the next phase of my life.
Youngstown State University
Back in Youngstown, I attended Youngstown State University www.ysu.edu for one year—from 1986 to 1987. I worked at a friend’s pest control company. During this time my brother, Roger, asked me to move to Florida to start a landscape business with him. I did. Diane and I had become engaged, and we decided to get married and start our new life in Florida after she graduated from Evangel.
Settling in Orlando
So I moved to Orlando, Florida www.cityoforlando.net and shared an apartment with my brother, Roger and sister, Patti. We launched a landscape company called Executive Lawn Care in 1987. We built the business while working other jobs. I joined a wonderful church in Orlando—Calvary Assembly of God in Winter Park. www.calvaryorlando.org
The Florida Years
Diane moved to Florida and rented a room from another church member. We were married at Calvary Assembly in November of 1988. Calvary is a wonderful church and I received some great training there. I worked with the children there and taught Sunday school—and was the children’s church superintendent. www.calvaryorlando.org
I built the business with my brother, bought a home, and grew to love Orlando. Life was good and I was content. However, in 1992, my life began to change in a dramatic way. I needed more of a challenge mentally and I wasn’t getting it in the landscape business. I was growing restless. I knew there was more to life than what I was doing. My brother and I had different views on the business that were coming to a head.
I decided to get some discipline in my life and quit drinking coffee—which was a constant in my life. I quit suddenly and didn’t realize the dramatic effect it would have on my body. During this time, I got sick and and took some cough medicine for the relief. I developed a habit for the cough syrup and it became a problem. I brought my spiritual father into the situation and it was determined I needed some counseling and maybe Ritalin. After getting some excellent counseling and trying various drugs—Ritalin was agreed upon. I took it off and on until 1996, when I discovered that improved nutrition was my answer.
In the meantime, my brother and I split up the landscape business in 1992. I ended up selling my half to him. I was looking for a business that I could spend the rest of my life building. I went from job to job while trying to find out what I wanted to do with my life, and trying different MLM business opportunities.
In the meantime, another thread was running through my life. I had grown spiritually lethargic—but I became revitalized spiritually. It was like God put His hand on my shoulder and told me it was time to prepare for the ministry—although I had no idea what that meant. I did what I thought I should do.
I filled out all the paperwork to attend Southeastern University www.seuniversity.edu in Lakeland, FL—an Assemblies of God Bible college. I thought I needed to go to seminary to prepare for full-time ministry. I visited the campus and received the blessing of one of my pastors at Calvary.
Then I talked to our head pastor, Mark Rutland www.globalservants.org —who is now the president of Southeastern—and he said I should wait. So I put my completed application into my desk and waited.
In 1993, I injured my back at work, and during this time I was bed-ridden off and on. So my life was complicated by this issue until 1997.
In 1995, I thought that I wanted to make investment banking a career, so I became a stockbroker. I got my Series 7 license and worked for 8 months at an investment firm.
This is where my life really started to take off. Not because of being a stockbroker, but because I really discovered what I wanted to do with my life—be a life coach. My senior broker gave me a copy of Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich and turned me on to Tony Robbins. www.anthonyrobbins.com That’s what I wanted to do—be a life coach.
I was always encouraging people and coaching them. My desire was to see people be the best they can be. So why not make that my life career? So that started me on the path to self-development and I read and listened to all the top success coaches out there. Sometimes you have to set a goal and go after it—and then later discover what you really want.
My son Alexander Joshua was born during this time—in August of 1995. While still at the investment firm, I was working most of the time and bed-ridden some of the time. I was taking prescription sleeping pills to help me sleep at night because of the pain while still taking Ritalin—not a good combination. A few months after Alex was born Diane left our home and took Alex to live with her at Edgewood Ranch in Orlando, where she was a counselor—and still is.
A note for all the spiritual leaders out there: I don’t know why she left—however, she did desert me. She had no legitimate reason to walk out of our marriage. I’m not going to speak any ill against her. I think postpartum depression was the biggest part of it. My condition didn’t help. I was trying my best to be a provider but financially we were struggling. We had already filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy and we were continuing to sink financially.
I guess it got to be too much for her. In the end, however, she never should have deserted me. I told her we should sell the house and get a condo so I would have less maintenance to do. She didn’t like that idea.
After that, I was left alone in our home for months. My back got worse and I quit my stockbroker job. It’s almost comical looking back at me in that house. I really couldn’t walk anymore, so I crawled around my house like an animal. One day I put a pizza in the oven and fell asleep to a fire in the oven. I could have burned the house down. People came from the church to help me and I was grateful for that.
During that time, I was looking for a way to turn my new dream about being a life coach into a business opportunity. I remember going to an Amway rally and the leader was a former surfer who spoke like both an evangelist and motivational speaker. I thought I wanted to do that because I could combine my desire to be a preacher with my other desire to be a motivational speaker. At that time I was trying to figure how to do both.
So I racked up some tremendous phone bills lying on the floor of my empty house. It was empty because I had to sell everything in it—I mean everything— just to have some money to live on. So I crawled around my house in extreme pain and just talked to people all over the country trying to figure out how to make my dream work.
Finally, I called a counselor at Super Channel 55 in Orlando. www.wacxtv.com A woman prayed for me, spoke powerful things into my life and caused my spine to straighten up.
After that, I decided to leave Orlando, and head back to Ohio. For some time I had been sensing God wanting me to move—but I didn’t know what the next step was. I decided to go back to Ohio and live in my parent’s basement for a time—and figure out my next step. I knew I needed to get my health back because I felt like an old man—and I was only in my late 30’s. My plan was to launch a ministry/business in one of the big cities—like NYC, Washington, Chicago, or L.A. I had always wanted to live in California ever since I graduated from high school. I even tried it once, but only made it to Chicago.
Over Christmas of 1996, I wrote out my life plans and was determined to reach my goals. For the first time in my life I knew what I wanted to do with my life. I had a sense of destiny—although I had no idea what it would look like. I was sad to leave my son, Alex in Orlando—but my wife chose to leave me. So I needed to move on without them.
Back to Ohio
In January of 1997, I took a Greyhound back to Youngstown, Ohio. It was a mixture of both humiliation and anticipation. Humiliation for my current life condition—anticipation for my exciting future that lay ahead. So I went to church at Calvary Assembly of God www.calvary-ag.com in Boardman—my old church.
I worked at getting myself completely well in all areas of life. To get restored physically, I did a combination of things. I completely restored my back through prayer, the Bible, nutrition, exercise and biofeedback. I discontinued Ritalin before leaving Florida. I started buying General Nutrition Center (GNC) products that I still use today—especially multivitamins. Also, I turned my emotions from a weakness to a strength. My regimen today is to be healthy in all areas of life—spirit, mind, emotions, body, relationships and money.
In early 1997, Diane divorced me. I tried twice to reconcile with her—but to no avail. So to my fellow spiritual leaders out there: I’m 48 now and she is 43. Her biological clock has run out. I want three more biological children (after I find a new wife, of course). So, no—I would not remarry her even if she wanted to. I think I waited long enough.
In March of 1997, I went back to work for an old friend who owned Expert Exterminating. I was a service tech and service manager until November of 2000, when he laid me off.
Politics, Talk Radio and Government
In 1998, I did a complete study on how the federal government worked. I studied all 3 branches—executive, legislative and judicial—and all their divisions. I didn’t know why I was so fascinated by this at the time. Now I know it was preparing me for such a time as this. Even before this, in 1996, I became fascinated by talk radio. I discovered a host named Rush Limbaugh www.rushlimbaugh.com —and I’ve been a listener to this day. I also discovered other shows in these years, most notably The Sean Hannity Show www.hannity.com. Rush and Sean are the ones who helped shape my political philosophy the most. All the other big names have also contributed—too many to mention. I don’t want to leave anyone out.
Global University and Becoming a Minister
From March of 1998 to February of 2001, I took classes through Global University. www.globaluniversity.edu It’s an Assemblies of God college based in Springfield, Missouri. I took both independent courses and group study through a local center in Youngstown. I completed all 33 courses that they offer and finished all 3 levels—Certified Minister, Licensed Minister, and Ordained Minister.
Because of the Assemblies of God position on divorce and remarriage, I opted to get my credentials through another Pentecostal organization. It had many members in the Youngstown area.
The organization is Harvest Network International. www.harvestnetworkintl.org I joined them October 12, 2000 and have been a minister with them since.
The Coaching Center
I began to get a progressive vision of a global network that God wanted me to set up. The big thing to me was—“where?” “NYC, Washington, Chicago, L.A. or where?” As I prayed and thought about it, it became clear that California was the most appealing place to me. I wanted to move there long ago. The next question was, “where in CA?” I had been to L.A. once before, and even stayed at the Beverly Hills Hotel—but for some reason I didn’t think it was the logical place for me to settle.
The more I researched San Francisco and L.A., the more I leaned to Silicon Valley—just south of S.F. I told my mom and close friends that San Francisco was it. So with that settled, I worked on setting up the network. In the middle of 2000, I incorporated The Coaching Center. I thought it would be a life coaching center franchise. I also incorporated Global Christian University and The Family Broadcasting Network to be part of the organization.
I had no idea at the time that The Coaching Center would later evolve into a church. During this period, I had been asked to help launch another church, and I thought I would do so. My pastor said I didn’t need to help someone else launch a church—inferring that I could launch my own. That was a seed planted in my spirit.
I cast the vision for The Coaching Center to some close advisors and set up an 8 member board of directors. I then worked on developing the organization.
Truck Driver Across America
In 2001, I sensed God was getting ready to move me to California. I needed to rule out the other options just to be sure, since this was a lifetime commitment. I had no idea how it would happen. Here’s how it did happen—the long way around. It took 2 years of being in the wilderness (like the Israelites) to land in Los Angeles.
In March of 2002, I went to truck driving school in Kentucky. I was hired by Swift Transportation www.swifttrans.com and began driving for them cross-country in April of 2002. I was based out of Columbus, Ohio. I drove mostly the eastern half of the country for 2 years. Then I told them I wanted to transfer to the L.A. terminal in 2004.
I fell in love with L.A. right away—especially Hollywood. Since I had seen all 48 contiguous states, I knew for sure that this was going to be the place that I would settle—process of elimination. I still had to see San Francisco for my own eyes and especially Silicon Valley before I could completely give my all to L.A. When I did go there—I had my answer.
Intellectually, I thought Silicon Valley. However, my heart was in Hollywood. Even then, though, I still hadn’t zeroed in on my final destination—Beverly Hills. In the meantime, God had revealed to me over time that The Coaching Center was to be a franchise of churches.
So I had 2 more years of driving mostly the western half of the U.S. before I actually settled in Hollywood. Remember the progression from general to specific: L.A. to Hollywood to Beverly Hills. God was working on getting me to Beverly Hills www.beverlyhills.org —but I had no clue at this point.
So I knew Hollywood was where I would settle, but when would it happen? As it turns out, God still had to train me some more. So I drove cross-country, coming home to Ontario, California every other weekend. I set up a mailbox at the UPS Store on Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood—to bring the dream one step closer to reality. To live your dreams you need to know how to make the intangible-tangible; the invisible-visible; the inaudible-audible; the impossible-possible. The Bible calls this “possessing your land.”
In the meantime, I set up the following corporations in California in 2003: The Coaching Center, Inc.; Global Christian University; and Family Broadcasting Network, Inc. I also later set up Star Fleet Academy, Inc.—a Christian academy franchise grades K-12; and Star Fleet, Inc.—an organization to ordain pulpit and marketplace ministers.
Spending nearly 4 years criss-crossing the country and seeing all 48 contiguous states was an invaluable experience. This was what the Bible calls my “wilderness experience.” It was during this time that God was personally shaping my character and preparing me for leadership. It was tough being on the road like that. It’s a total mind game. I learned a lot about what people are like in all the states—it turns out they are pretty much the same everywhere. They have the same hopes, dreams and concerns.
Landing in Hollywood
Right before Christmas 2005, I sensed God telling me it was time to make the next move. I had $5,000 in savings. I gave my 2 week notice to my manager on December 26th, and prepared to settle in Hollywood. On January 5th, I turned my truck in to our headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona. I took a Greyhound to Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood and stayed in a hotel. I worked to figure out how to get a church launched in Hollywood called The Coaching Center.
I prayerwalked the main streets of Sunset and Hollywood Blvds. every day. I was looking for a building to hold services and live in. As I did, I just sensed I needed to check out Beverly Hills—just to see what it felt like. Well, I had driven through Beverly Hills www.beverlyhills.org before and taken one of the tour buses—but taking the time to walk through the streets is a different feeling. I just knew in my spirit that this was the place for me to settle. I just felt like this was my “Promised Land.”
Having stepped into my promised land, there would be no turning back. God had called me to reach the people of Hollywood, and Beverly Hills is the heart of Hollywood. I knew in my spirit that it was Beverly Hills or bust. Well, as humor would have it, I completely ran out of money days after this great revelation. Here I was, getting ready to launch a great church in this world-class city—and I was on the verge of being homeless. I didn’t know anyone in L.A. I thought God would surely send someone knocking on my motel door with a large check to help. After all—I was man of God. Didn’t happen. Not even close.
I let my medical card expire for my Commercial Driver License, because I didn’t think that I would ever drive a truck again. Never say never. I did run out of money and the unthinkable was about to happen. I was going to have nowhere to stay—and I was in shock.
I ended up staying in a homeless shelter in downtown L.A. for 10 days. I was able to secure a job with a local temporary agency called Staffmark www.staffmark.com, driving a big rig. That happened just in time, because it turns out that the next day I was about to be evicted from the homeless shelter. They had no more funding and half of us had to leave. That means that the next night I really would be homeless. So I got the job and was able to stay at the Salvation Army the next day. I ended up staying in one of their trailers for low rent, while driving for the temporary agency. I moved into an apartment in March, 2007. It’s located in Echo Park near my church, Angelus Temple. www.angelustemple.org I’ve been here since.
Choosing to Settle in Beverly Hills
Numerous companies have wanted to hire me on, but I tell them all the same thing. “I can’t make the commitment to you because I’m launching a church in Beverly Hills. I don’t know when I’ll be leaving.” I repeat the same mantra wherever I go. People ask me what I do and I tell them, “I’m launching a church in Beverly Hills.” If I wasn’t absolutely sure that this was my project for life, I would have moved on long ago.
I’m laughing myself silly even now, as I look at my circumstances. But I know Beverly Hills www.beverlyhills.org is where God wants me to settle, build a church, create The New*Hollywood, and raise my future family. When I told God long ago that I’ll go anywhere for Him, I was hoping he didn’t send me to some remote outpost in a far off country. It’s like I closed my eyes real hard and when I opened them, I discovered I was in Beverly Hills—well almost. I have a postal mailbox address here right now. Eventually, I will secure a location to have pep rallies and live. Right now, I do life coaching wherever I go.
I want to say this about Beverly Hills. www.beverlyhills.org Something very big and very good is happening here. Something God-size. Recently, a megachurch called Oasis Christian Center moved from Hollywood to Beverly Hills. They bought the Wilshire Theater on Wilshire Blvd.—right next door to Flynt Publications. Yes, you’re right. Larry Flynt and Hustler magazine. Larry has a big building on the corner of Wilshire and La Cienega. I’ve been believing for Larry to get saved for a while. Now he has this huge congregation move in next door. I think Larry’s life is about to change dramatically.
My Current Status
I am currently still driving a truck for Staffmark Transportation. www.staffmark.com I live in an apartment in Echo Park www.echopark.net by the lake. Echo Park is where Hollywood originated. I am member of Angelus Temple www.angelustemple.org, which is 2 blocks away from me. I am also a few blocks away from the famous Dream Center www.dreamcenter.org of L.A. This is an exciting place to be as Angelus Temple is in an extended revival.
If you don’t know, The Dream Center www.dreamcenter.org is a large hospital on the Hollywood Freeway that’s been converted to a discipleship center. Angelus Temple www.angelustemple.org is the church of the Dream Center. Pastors Tommy and Matthew Barnett started the Dream Center. People come from all over the world to study this model and to volunteer. It’s truly a global magnet.
Pastor Tommy www.pastorsschool.com is the father and founded one of America’s largest megachurches in Phoenix, Arizona. www.phoenixfirst.org
Pastor Matthew www.matthewbarnett.com is the son who actually came to L.A. to spearhead all of this. His global popularity is increasing all the time. It’s a privilege for me to be a member of this incredible church. My Run for the White House
My life mission is to create The New*Hollywood. However, one of my dreams is to be President. On March 19, 2007, God spoke to me about getting into the 2008 race for President. On March 24th, I filed my Statement of Candidacy with the Federal Elections Commission. Leading up to this decision, God had given me hints about this for months. On March 19th, He spoke to my inner man as clear as day.
As with anything I believe God is telling me—I ponder it for some time. If it consumes me day after day—I know it’s God. When He spoke to me, I had been studying the life of King David in my devotions in 1 and 2 Samuel. Also, I had been feeling what Bill Hybels www.willowcreek.org calls a “Holy Discontent”. I looked at the contenders for the White House and just said, “All of them are weak. I can beat them.”
You and I know that I don’t have an unblemished past. I have an FBI record from things I did over 25 years ago. However, I've been a good citizen since then. I meet the qualifications to be the next President. Article 2, Section 1 of the U.S. Constitution states: “No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty-five years, and been fourteen years a resident within the United States.”
So there are only 3 requirements in the U.S. Constitution that a person needs to meet in order to be President of the United States. 1. natural born citizen 2. At least 35 years old 3. been a resident of the U.S. for 14 years. I meet all 3 requirements: 1. I was born in Youngstown, Ohio 2. I’m 48 years old 3. I’ve lived in the U.S. all my life: 1st Ohio, then Pennsylvania, Missouri, Florida, and California.
The American people are a forgiving people. If you’re honest with them, they’ll give you the benefit of the doubt. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says that, “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” I trust the American people to judge righteously and I trust the God who created this great country. Anything can happen in this land of dreams. I encourage you to go for your dreams. Opportunities are everywhere right now.
You and I also know that right now I’m not the epitome of financial health. However, just like I turned my emotions from a weakness to a strength—I am doing the same financially. I have even boldly declared that I’m going to use my life coaching skills to create 100 billionaires by November 4, 2008—Election Day. www.100billionaires.us See Part 2, The New*American Dream for details.
Finally, you and I know that I have no political experience. Some would think that is a negative. I think it’s a positive. We don’t need any more career politicians who see the Presidency as the next step in their career. The Founding Fathers never intended for serving in government to be a career. That may be the norm in other countries—but not in America—this country is exceptional. Their intentions were for average citizens to leave their private lives—serve in government for a time—then go back to their private lives.
There is an infrastructure already in place in Washington. If elected President, all I need to do is build a team of the top administration and cabinet leaders. The rest of the government is already in place. The question is: “Do you want a career politician—or an outsider who will shake Washington to its core?” Someone who will restore truth, justice and the Christian way to Washington. If that’s what you want—I’m your man.

I’m a Christian First and foremost—I’m a Christian. Christians founded this great country and we continue to be the reason America is blessed by God. I have a spiritual authority that the other candidates don’t have—the authority to set things in order and to lay new foundations.

In each city he put the food grown in the fields surrounding it. 49 Joseph stored up huge quantities of grain, like the sand of the sea; it was so much that he stopped keeping records because it was beyond measure. 50 Before the years of famine came, two sons were born to Joseph by Asenath daughter of Potiphera, priest of On. 51 Joseph named his firstborn Manasseh and said, "It is because God has made me forget all my trouble and all my father's household." 52 The second son he named Ephraim and said, "It is because God has made me fruitful in the land of my suffering." 53 The seven years of abundance in Egypt came to an end, 54 and the seven years of famine began, just as Joseph had said. There was famine in all the other lands, but in the whole land of Egypt there was food. 55 When all Egypt began to feel the famine, the people cried to Pharaoh for food. Then Pharaoh told all the Egyptians, "Go to Joseph and do what he tells you." 56 When the famine had spread over the whole country, Joseph opened the storehouses and sold grain to the Egyptians, for the famine was severe throughout Egypt. 57 And all the countries came to Egypt to buy grain from Joseph, because the famine was severe in all the world.
Like Joseph, I know in general where the world is moving—and America’s place in it. I also have the plan to keep us out front. That’s why I can be trusted with the Presidency. See Part 2, The New*American Dream for more details.
I Have the Passion I have the passion to rebuild the spiritual walls of Washington. We need to rediscover our Judeo-Christian roots. I parallel my life with that of Nehemiah. I want to go to Washington to promote the welfare of the American people (Nehemiah 2:10)—and I know the God of Heaven will give us success (Nehemiah 2:20).
Nehemiah saw that the walls of Jerusalem were broken down and he was distressed. Instead of complaining or wallowing in self-pity and grief—he took action. Nehemiah knew that God wanted him to motivate the Jews to rebuild Jerusalem’s walls, so he left a responsible position in the Persian government to do what God wanted. Nehemiah knew God could use his talents to get the job done.
From the moment he arrived in Jerusalem, everyone knew who was in charge. He organized, managed, supervised, encouraged, met opposition, confronted injustice, and kept going until the walls were built. Nehemiah was a man of action. After building the walls, Nehemiah led the city in worship and Bible instruction. This led to a reaffirmation of faith and religious revival as the people promised to serve God faithfully.

I Have the Strength Thomas Jefferson, the 3rd U.S. President, and author of the Declaration of Independence, said: “Every generation needs a new revolution.” The Campbell Revolution begins now. I say to our current leaders in Washington: “Lead, follow or get out of our way.” America has been challenged in 2 areas: First, our way of life has been challenged by radical Muslims who want to rule over us. I will keep us on offense as long as I am President. Second, America has been challenged economically by China. China will be a formidable competitor for decades to come, so I will keep our workforce the best and most productive in the world.

How to Become a Christian
Going to church, being religious or even living in America doesn’t automatically make you a Christian. A Christian is a person who has made Jesus Christ their Lord and Savior. It’s about a personal relationship—just you and God. You have just read a story about a man who has made many mistakes in life—even after I became a Christian. Yet God still loves me and continues to bring me into my destiny. That’s because I am a friend of God. James 2:23 says that you can be called God’s friend, too. Pray this prayer:

The New*American Dream Every American—healthy, wealthy and wise.
I am upgrading the American Dream to a new 21st century model. Martin Luther King said, “I have a dream.” I have what I call The New*American Dream. A dream where every American is healthy, wealthy and wise.
It’s based on 3 John verse 2. “I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” Healthy, wealthy and wise. That’s all that we really want. Benjamin Franklin understood this with his famous proverb: “Early to bed and early to rise—makes you healthy, wealthy and wise.” We are the most blessed people of any civilization ever, and we need to be thankful for that. We have a greater destiny ahead and we need to get back to the basics to prepare for it. New frontiers await us.
We have all the resources to make that happen right now. I’m not talking a socialist approach. I’m talking about every American taking individual responsibility. I’m talking about every American reaching their full potential. I’m talking about every American finding their God-given dream and making it a reality in this land of unlimited opportunities. As a life coach, I believe every American can realize their personal dreams in the context of the corporate New*American Dream. I believe in you. Believe in yourself.

We live in the wealthiest nation on earth. Even our poor live in luxury compared to most of the world. However, you have a responsibility to yourself and others to live beyond a “paycheck to paycheck” mentality. You want to live in prosperity—to have much more than enough. Then you can live comfortably and help others. Live to give. Giving is the highest level of living.
*wise Wisdom is simply “skill in living”. There are many different kinds of intelligence. Knowledge alone is not enough, however. Wisdom is the pure gold. “Wisdom is supreme—therefore get wisdom.” (Proverbs 4:7) How do you get wisdom? Proverbs 9:10 says: “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom”.
Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness
The foundation of The New*American Dream is found in the United States’ Declaration of Independence. Our founding fathers "…held certain truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness."
The American Dream Defined
The term American Dream was first used by James Truslow Adams in his book, The Epic of America, written in 1931. He states: The American Dream is “that dream of a land in which life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement. It is a difficult dream for the European upper classes to interpret adequately, and too many of us ourselves have grown weary and mistrustful of it. It is not a dream of motor cars and high wages merely, but a dream of social order in which each man and each woman shall be able to attain to the fullest stature of which they are innately capable, and be recognized by others for what they are, regardless of the fortuitous circumstances of birth or position." (p.214-215)
The term American Dream generally refers to the idea that one's prosperity depends upon one's own abilities and hard work, not on a rigid class structure—although the term can have slightly different meanings. For some, it is the opportunity to achieve more prosperity than they could in their countries of origin; for others, it is the opportunity for their children to grow up with an education and become professionals; for still others, it is the opportunity to be an individual without the constraints imposed by caste, race, gender or ethnicity. It sometimes includes the idea of owning a home.
The American Dream Evolves
The old American Dream was the dream of the Puritans—of Benjamin Franklin's Poor Richard—of men and women content to accumulate their modest fortunes a little at a time, year by year by year. The new dream was the dream of instant wealth, won in a twinkling by audacity and good luck. This golden dream became a prominent part of the American psyche after the California Gold Rush.
California's name became indelibly connected with the Gold Rush, and as a result, was connected with what became known as the "California Dream." California was perceived as a place of new beginnings, where great wealth could reward hard work and good luck. Historian H. W. Brands noted that in the years after the Gold Rush, the California Dream spread to the rest of the United States and became part of the new "American Dream."

The 20th Century, has been called 'The American Century.' And at the beginning of the 21st, America is the world’s only superpower. Among the world’s nations, America ranks number one economically, militarily and culturally. But has America lost its sense of what once was called 'American Greatness'? Does America need to rediscover its sense of purpose? I believe we do. As President, I will restore America’s sense of purpose.
History of Gold Rushes
Gold rushes were typically marked by a general buoyant feeling of a "free for all" in income mobility, in which any single individual might become abundantly wealthy almost instantly. The significance of gold rushes in history has given a longer life to the term, and it is now applied generally to capitalism to denote any economic activity in the participants aspire to race each other in common pursuit of a new and apparently highly lucrative market, often precipitated by an advance in technology.
A gold rush is a period of feverish migration of workers into the area of a dramatic discovery of commercial quantities of gold. Several gold rushes took place throughout the 19th century in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, New Zealand, South Africa, and the United States. Gold rushes helped spur permanent non-indigenous settlement of new regions and define a significant part of the culture of the North American and Australian frontiers. As well, at a time when money was based on gold, the newly-mined gold provided economic stimulus far beyond the gold fields.
The first significant gold rush in the United States was the Georgia Gold Rush in the southern Appalachians, which started in 1829. It was followed by the California Gold Rush of 1848–49 in the Sierra Nevada, which captured the popular imagination. The California gold rush led directly to the settlement of California by Americans and the rather rapid entry of that state in the union in 1850. Successive gold rushes occurred in western North America, gradually moving north: the Fraser Canyon, the Cariboo district and other parts of British Columbia, and the Rocky Mountains. One of the last "great gold rushes" was the Klondike Gold Rush in Canada's Yukon Territory (1898–99), immortalized in the novels of Jack London, the poetry of Robert W. Service and films such as Charlie Chaplin's The Gold Rush.
The Victorian gold rush, which occurred in Australia in 1851 soon after the California gold rush, was the most major of several Australian gold rushes. That gold rush was highly significant to Australia’s, and especially Victoria's and Melbourne's, political and economic development. With the Australian gold rushes came the construction of the first railways and telegraph lines, multiculturalism and racism, the Eureka Stockade and the end of penal transportation. Many of those involved in mining in Victoria later traveled across the Tasman Sea to take part in the Central Otago Gold Rush, New Zealand's biggest gold rush. This kick-started New Zealand's economy and made the city of Dunedin a major financial center in the young colony. In South Africa, the Witwatersrand Gold Rush in the Transvaal was equally important to that country's history, leading to the founding of Johannesburg and tensions between the Boers and British settlers.
One of the best-known gold rushes was the Klondike Gold Rush of 1897–99; the main goldfield was along the south flank of the Klondike River near its confluence with the Yukon near what was to become Dawson City in Canada's Yukon Territory but it also helped open up the relatively new US possession of Alaska to exploration and settlement and promoted the discovery of other gold finds there.
The Klondike Gold Rush sparked the largest mobilization of goldseekers in history. Millions started on the journey although ultimately only a few hundred thousand reached the "Yukon Ports" or other disembarkation points such as Nome, Alaska, Yakutat Bay and Stewart, British Columbia for the long overland journey to the goldfields. Some hopeful disembarkation points such as Edmonton, Alberta turned out to be impractical and less than a handful made it by such routes. Only 35,000 finally reached what was to become Dawson City, at the confluence of the Klondike and Yukon Rivers, to be faced by famine, fire and some of the world's bitterest and darkest winters.
California Gold Rush
The California Gold Rush (1848–1855) began on January 24, 1848, when gold was discovered at Sutter's Mill. As news of the discovery spread, some 300,000 people came to California from the rest of the United States and abroad.
These early gold-seekers, called "forty-niners," traveled to California by sailing ship and in covered wagons across the continent, often facing substantial hardships on the trip. While most of the newly-arrived were Americans, the Gold Rush also attracted tens of thousands from Latin America, Europe, Australia and Asia. At first, the prospectors retrieved the gold from streams and riverbeds using simple techniques, such as panning, and later developed more sophisticated methods of gold recovery that were adopted around the world. Gold worth billions of today's dollars was recovered, leading to great wealth for a few; many, however, returned home with little more than they started with.
The effects of the Gold Rush were substantial. San Francisco grew from a tiny hamlet of tents to a boomtown, and roads, churches, schools and other towns were built. A system of laws and a government were created, leading to the admission of California as a state in 1850. New methods of transportation developed as steamships came into regular service and railroads were built. The business of agriculture, California's next major growth field, was started on a wide scale throughout the state. However, the Gold Rush also had negative effects: Native Americans were attacked and pushed off traditional lands, and gold mining caused environmental harm.
The Gold Rush started at Sutter's Mill, near Coloma, on January 24, 1848. James W. Marshall, a foreman working for Sacramento pioneer John Sutter, found pieces of shiny metal in the tailrace of a lumber mill Marshall was building for Sutter, along the American River. Marshall quietly brought what he found to Sutter, and the two of them privately tested the findings. The tests showed Marshall's particles to be gold.
Sutter was dismayed by this, and wanted to keep the news quiet because he feared what would happen to his plans for an agricultural empire if there were a mass search for gold. However, rumors soon started to spread and were confirmed in March 1848 by San Francisco newspaper publisher and merchant Samuel Brannan. The most famous quote of the California Gold Rush was by Brannan; after he hurriedly set up a store to sell gold prospecting supplies, Brannan strode through the streets of San Francisco, holding aloft a vial of gold, shouting "Gold! Gold! Gold from the American River!"
On August 19, 1848, the New York Herald was the first major newspaper on the East Coast to report that there was a gold rush in California; on December 5, President James Polk confirmed the discovery of gold in an address to Congress. Soon, waves of immigrants from around the world, later called the "forty-niners," invaded the Gold Country of California or "Mother Lode." As Sutter had feared, he was ruined; his workers left in search of gold, and squatters invaded his land and stole his crops and cattle.
San Francisco had been a tiny settlement before the rush began. When residents learned of the discovery, it at first became a ghost town of abandoned ships and businesses whose owners joined the Gold Rush, but it then boomed as merchants and new people arrived. The population of San Francisco exploded from perhaps 1,000 in 1848 to 25,000 full-time residents by 1850. As with many boomtowns, the sudden influx of people strained the infrastructure of San Francisco and other towns near the goldfields. People lived in tents, wood shanties, or deck cabins removed from abandoned ships.
Routes to California in 1849
In what has been referred to as the "first world-class gold rush," there was no easy way to get to California; forty-niners faced hardship and often death on the way to the gold fields. At first, most Argonauts, as they were also known, traveled by sea. From the East Coast, a sailing voyage around the tip of South America would take five to eight months, and cover some 18,000 nautical miles (33,000 km).
An alternative route was to sail to the Atlantic side of the Isthmus of Panama, to take canoes and mules for a week through the jungle, and then on the Pacific side, to wait for a ship sailing for San Francisco.There was also a route across Mexico starting at Vera Cruz. Eventually, most gold-seekers took the overland route across the continental United States, particularly along the California Trail. Each of these routes had its own deadly hazards, from shipwreck to typhoid fever to cholera.

To meet the demands of the new arrivals, ships bearing goods from around the world—porcelain and silk from China, ale from Scotland—poured into San Francisco as well. Upon reaching San Francisco, ship captains found that their crews deserted and went to the gold fields. The wharves and docks of San Francisco became a forest of masts, as hundreds of ships were abandoned.
Enterprising San Franciscans then took over these abandoned ships and turned them into warehouses, stores, taverns, hotels, and one into a jail. Many of these ships were later destroyed and used for landfill to create more buildable land in the boomtown.
America is Transformed
By the winter of 1848, whispers of a gold strike had drifted eastward across the country—but few easterners believed. It was an age when rumors were discounted—and government officials were revered. The gold discovery needed validation, and President James Polk delivered just that in early December, 1848: "The accounts of the abundance of gold in that territory are of such extraordinary character as would scarcely command belief were they not corroborated by authentic reports of officers in the public service."
Polk's confirmation reached deep into the soul of millions. His simple words were a powerful call to action. Farmers left their fields; merchants closed their shops; soldiers left their posts—and made plans for California. Newspapers fanned the fires.
By early 1849, gold fever was an epidemic. Discussions of gold could be heard at nearly every kitchen table in the nation. Young men explained to their wives that a year apart would be worth the hardship.
The gold rush leads to the "idea" of California, a mindset which spawns Hollywood, aerospace, and Silicon Valley. Although the gold in the California hills eventually ran out—the impact of the gold rush era lives on. California was shaped by the adventurers who stayed—to form the idea that is California today: a place that accepts and nurtures risk takers.
2 Men—2 Destinies
John Sutter never saw the opportunity of gold. He couldn't alter his vision—and left the state. But as Sutter and those like him departed, the new Californians came and kept coming. People who could adapt to constant changes; people who saw opportunity at every corner; people who longed for a more exciting life, and weren't afraid to grab it. It was a dream that precious few ever actually realized—but it's a dream that lives on.
It wasn't just Sutter's gardens that were raided—by the end of 1849, his grand empire had collapsed completely. Sutter did not have the entrepreneurial spirit of the new Californians and he didn't have gold fever. He wanted an agricultural empire and refused to alter his vision. In the new California, Sutter was simply in the way. The 49ers literally trampled his crops and tore down his fort for the building materials. Dejected, disillusioned, he eventually left the state. The man who had the best opportunity to capitalize on the discovery of gold—never even tried.
Samuel Brannan The gold rush needed a booster, and Sam Brannan was the man. A San Francisco merchant, Brannan was a skilled craftsman of hype. Eventually, the gold rush would make him the richest person in California—but Sam Brannan never mined for gold. He had a different strategy—a plan he set into motion by running through the streets of San Francisco shouting about Marshall's discovery. As proof, Brannan held up a bottle of gold dust. It was a masterstroke that would spark the rush for gold—and make Brannan rich.
Brannan keenly understood the laws of supply and demand. His wild run through San Francisco came just after he had purchased every pick axe, pan and shovel in the region. A metal pan that sold for twenty cents a few days earlier, was now available from Brannan for fifteen dollars. In just nine weeks he made thirty-six thousand dollars.
New Opportunities in America
The class society of the east was gone and opportunity was everywhere. It was pure freedom, and a pure free market. People who had a skill were in demand regardless of who they were. Women, for example, who couldn't earn much money back home, found their domestic skills had considerable value here.
For every famous success, there were a thousand smaller stories of people who used their wits, not their shovels—to find a fortune. Creative entrepenuers were everywhere—looking for a new angle—a new way to make money, more money.
It was here, in this sleepy valley, that the American Dream was re-defined. An accidental discovery near the obscure American River would forever change a young nation. The simple life would no longer be enough. In its place would come a new kind of lifestyle: entrepreneurial, wide-open, free. The new American Dream: to get rich; to make a fortune—quickly.
Instant wealth was here for the taking. All across America, young men made the decision to go to California. Every city, every hamlet would send its brightest, its strongest, to California—and eagerly await their triumphant return home. They came from Europe, Asia, and South America in search of instant riches.
It was one of the greatest adventures the world had ever seen.******

"This is far and away the strongest global economy I've seen in my business lifetime," is how U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson recently described the current global boom. Hyperbole? Actually, that dramatic declaration probably understates things. Let's refer back to this piece of analysis from Paulson's old firm, Goldman Sachs: "If we and the consensus are correct, then the period 2003-2008 will have been one of the most powerful periods of economic growth globally since accurate data [have] been collectible for much of the world."
Indeed, the global economy is growing at about a 5 percent annual pace, according to the International Monetary Fund, after growing 4.9 percent in 2005 and 5.4 percent last year. By contrast, the global economy grew at a 3 percent pace from 1980 to 2000 and at 4.7 percent from 1960 to 1980.
But one thing making the current world economy more impressive today is that gross global product is three times as big as it was in 1970, when adjusted for inflation. (We're growing off a much bigger base.) And before that? According to the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, "The first 60 years of the 20th century saw average annual global growth rates of 2.4 percent, of 1 percent for the entire 19th century, of one-third of 1 percent for the 18th century."
This is the story of globalization, of free trade, of the Internet, of China, of India. Then there's this: The 21st century has also seen a global effort to reduce tax rates. Since 2000, according to the Tax Foundation, more than half the countries in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development—the group of 30 nations that includes most of America's major economic competitors—have lowered their top marginal rates, reducing the OECD average rate from 45.93 to 42.95 percent.

Major Force—Jesus Christ is Returning No one knows exactly when He will return to physically rule the planet. We do know this—His return is getting closer all the time. This passage in Revelation chapter 19 describes His return:
11 “I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes are like blazing fire, and on His head are many crowns. He has a name written on Him that no one knows but He himself. 13 He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and His name is the Word of God. 14 The armies of heaven were following Him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. 15 Out of His mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule them with an iron scepter." He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. 16 On His robe and on His thigh He has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.”
This major force overshadows all other forces and explains why the world is changing so rapidly. Have you noticed this—and wondered why? Because Jesus’ return is getting closer, everything is accelerating. The rate and degree of change is accelerating more and more. Acceleration of discoveries, inventions, strategies and technologies. Acceleration of cultural changes. This is because all of creation is in an increasingly heightened state of expectancy. Romans chapter 8 explains this:
18 “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. 19 The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed. 20 For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God. 22 We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. 23 Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. 24 For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? 25 But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.”
So, this is fantastic news for those who are God’s side. We look forward to this with excitement and anticipation. For those who are not on God’s side—this is not something they look forward to. This is why they live in fear and anxiety. Do you notice that so many people are unhappy—yet these are the best times for human beings to be alive? The Soviet Union was our military equal for decades. However, in the 1990’s, the empire collapsed. It didn’t have a strong economic infrastructure. We pushed it over the edge by our strong economic challenge. China is different. It is very strong economically—and its people are industrious. It will be a powerhouse for decades to come. This is a good thing. America is the best in the world—and we welcome the competition. It will make us stronger and better. And this is good for the entire world. Having two powerful engines fueling the world economy will raise the standard of living for all peoples.
Major Force—Realignment of Nations The world’s nations have always been in various stages of realignment. Nations rise and fall. Alliances are made and broken. This realignment will accelerate. Always keep your eye on Israel. That is the ball. Israel will always be center stage in world events. There’s a spiritual reason for this. The New Jerusalem is the future capital of the universe. Jerusalem is the most important piece of real estate in the universe. That’s why there is a constant struggle for it.
Major Force—How We Work is Changing This obviously is what you are most concerned about. The way we work is changing rapidly—and we need to change with it. We have to, so we can stay ahead of China. I know it is unsettling. As President, I will make this issue one of my top priorities. I will have a national dialogue with the American people. We need to decide as Americans what we want the future to look like. What jobs, careers and businesses will we have? It’s up to us to decide. For us—and for our children and grandchildren.
We have moved quickly from an agricultural economy; to an industrial economy; to a service economy. We need to progress to what I call a leadership economy. Other nations like China and India are already nipping at our heels. Outsourcing is a fact of life. What we need to do is take the next step up the evolutionary economic ladder. We need to be the first nation to convert to a leadership economy.
We need to upgrade to this type of economy. This will keep us in our leadership position in the world. It will also mean better and higher-paying jobs for our citizens. All this leads to a higher quality of life. In America, our children should expect to live a better life than we have. And they will.
The United States has been the economic engine that has fueled the world for decades. We are the inventors of capitalism. The business of America is business. The world looks to us for leadership—especially the emerging economies that want to get on this freedom and prosperity bandwagon. So, we need need to be the experts and managers and consultants to the world. We need to have them hire us to show them how to do capitalism.
America is still the envy of the world—economically, culturally and militarily. Nothing succeeds like success. Let’s lead the nations into this brave new world. And let’s enjoy the American Adventure.

Beverly Hills is home to 34,000 people and hosts more than 200,000 commuters, shoppers and tourists daily," said Keone Kali, IT director for Beverly Hills. While Beverly Hills is its own city, it is culturally very much a part of Hollywood. The city derives its unique personality from being favored by show business people; and it is true that many actors, writers, directors and producers live in the city and take part in civic life; many professionals, doctors and lawyers, have homes and offices in the city also. The Beverly Hills Unified School District, with its four K-8 schools and the Beverly Hills High School, boasts particularly high academic achievement.
As of the census GR2 of 2000, there were 33,784 people, 15,035 households, and 8,269 families residing in the city. The population density was 2,300.5/km² (5,954.0/mi²). There were 15,856 housing units at an average density of 1,079.7/km² (2,794.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 85.06% Caucasian, 1.77% Black , 0.13% Amerindian, 7.05% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 1.50% from other races, and 4.46% from mixed two, or more, races. 4.63% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race. Some estimates put the Persian community population as high as 20%. Some claim it to be even higher. The majority of Beverly Hills Persians adhere to Judaism. [1]
Of the 15,035 households, 24.4% had children under the age of 18, 43.8% were married couples, 8.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 45.0% were non-families. 38.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The overall median household income is $84,197. About 7.9% of families and 9.1% of the population were below the poverty line, including 9.5% of those under age 18 and 7.9% of those age 65 or over. Despite its reputation, 90210 is not the wealthiest ZIP code in the United States or even California. The wealthiest ZIP code in California is 94027, generally in Atherton, California, while the wealthiest ZIP code in the United States is 33139, in Miami Beach, Florida). In fact, Beverly Hills has the lowest median household income of cities with a population of over 10,000 where the average home value is above $1 million.

Cellywood
Cell phones are being called the “fourth screen”. The progression of movie and TV display has been from theaters, to televisions, to computers and now to cell phones. As you know, the screens have been getting smaller. However, holographic and projection technologies are right around the corner. This will enable your cell phone to morph into a big screen experience. And the thing is, you can download any content—at any time.
That’s why I call this The New*Gold Rush. The technology is here to deliver content to people in a variety of ways—and in a very personal way via cell phones. The question is: What content will they be influenced by? Hopefully it’s by us.
So you see, we have to go on offense. We can’t disengage from Hollywood. We need to be The New*Hollywood and produce the content and display our talent for good. As you’ve noticed, the entire world is changing rapidly—in both the rate and degree. There’s a reason for that, as I have already explained in Part 2. Jesus is returning to earth soon, and all of creation is in a state of expectancy—which is causing everything to accelerate.

The first Disney management principle, “Make Everyone’s Dream Come True”, outlines the importance of allowing members of the organization to dream and develop their creative talents. The Disney Company employs hundreds of “Imagineers” whose sole purpose is to develop creative ideas. But this creative spirit is not limited to the Imagineers. The organization fosters a culture of creativity in all of its employees. This encourages participation and is credited with a decreased turnover rate as compared to the industry’s competitors.
The second principle, “You Better Believe It”, examines the importance of a clear understanding of the basic beliefs and core values of the company. Product and service excellence is dependent on each employee’s understanding of the expectations and methods of prioritization.
Thirdly, Disney is guided by the principle “Never a Customer, Always a Guest”. To this day, a visitor to a Disney theme park is always referred to as a guest. Walt Disney was insistent on being able to understand the wishes and needs of his guests. He believed that guests deserve respect and honesty. The authors outline that to best examine how an organization values its clients, one only needs to evaluate how the organization deals with complaints. Walt Disney felt that solving guests problems sparks innovation.
The fourth principle, “All for One and One for All”, highlights the importance of teamwork and empowerment of the employees. Teamwork is described as a method of fostering intense loyalty, enthusiasm and commitment. Because the focus at the Disney Company is to make sure that each guest has a memorable and pleasant experience, it doesn’t matter whose “job” it is to pick up a piece of trash. It becomes everyone’s responsibility. The book notes that even the current CEO, Michael Eisner, is compelled to pick up trash. Michael Eisner is also continuing in Walt Disney’s legacy in fostering empowerment among his employees. It is not uncommon for him to be touring one of Disney’s theme parks, requesting and implementing the opinions of his frontline workers.
Disney management has adopted “Share the Spotlight” as its fifth principle, which outlines the importance of partnerships with other companies. Instead of utilizing a Disney group of musicians, the Philadelphia Philharmonic became a critical partner in the success of the Disney film “Fantasia”. Other large partners have included General Motors, Nestle, and Mattel. Every Disney supplier, big or small, is treated with respect. The Disney theme parks have specific reception areas for vendors to sign in, get directions, and receive coffee and use the telephone. Walt Disney felt that partnerships help expand the possibilities, although he did feel that the partnership with like-minded people was critical.
The sixth principle, “Dare to Dare”, encourages risk-taking as a method of cultivating innovative ideas. Although the company’s success is a result of the risks that Walt has taken, he does stress that risks need to be calculated risks, based on solid fundamentals. For Walt, the fundamental trademark was whether the risk passed his “family entertainment” test.
Many of the aforementioned principles are dependent on the seventh principle, “Practice, Practice, Practice”, which outlines the importance of formal and continuous training. Employees are trained at the “Disney University”. There is one entire day of the training that is dedicated to the Disney traditions, which helps instill the company’s beliefs and core values. It is felt that newly learned skills, once reinforced with coaching, practice and recognition, will become habit. When an employee is not performing a responsibility to the expected level, the original training of the employee is reexamined.
The eighth principle, “Make Your Elephant Fly”, stresses planning. The long term vision must be aligned with short term execution. Walt Disney recognized that although creativity does require space to grow, the generation of ideas is considered part of the corporate process and requires careful management. This Project Management Process facilitates communication and the holistic thinking that everyone is working for the common good.
“Capture the Magic with Storyboards” is Disney’s ninth management principle. It outlines the usefulness of the storyboard technique as a method to generate solutions and to enhance communication. Walt Disney is credited to have conceived “Storyboarding” which, for the cartoon industry, is an effective method to keep track of thousands of drawings necessary to achieve full animation of cartoon features. Today, the technique has spread to many areas of the organizational process. It is helpful in conceptualizing a mission statement, in the analysis of barriers and in the creation of team solutions. It breaks situations into smaller, more manageable parts and focuses group attention on specific aspects of the problem.
The tenth and final principle, “Give Details Top Billing”, outlines the importance of paying attention to detail. Walt Disney was relentlessly searching for perfection and always asking how something could be improved. Nonetheless, he recognized the need to have a careful balance between the financial bottom line and the quest for perfection, otherwise details can become expensive. Paying attention to detail also means measuring results to ensure that the effort matches the outcome.

I am not a prophet—I’m an apostle. However, I want to deliver
this extended prophecy that I received from God—for Hollywood.
The Message: "DECISIONS DETERMINE DESTINY".
A STORY OF 2 KINGS
Chapters 4 and 5 of Daniel tell the story of 2 kings. King Nebuchadnezzar was the father and King Belshazzar was his son. The father’s life ended in triumph. The son’s life ended in tragedy. What was the difference?

Now, Belteshazzar, tell me what it means, for none of the wise men in my kingdom can interpret it for me. So the king said, "Belteshazzar, do not let the dream or its meaning alarm you." Belteshazzar answered, "My lord, if only the dream applied to your enemies and its meaning to your adversaries! 20 The tree you saw, which grew large and strong, with its top touching the sky, visible to the whole earth, 21 with beautiful leaves and abundant fruit, providing food for all, giving shelter to the beasts of the field, and having nesting places in its branches for the birds of the air-- 22 you, O king, are that tree! You have become great and strong; your greatness has grown until it reaches the sky, and your dominion extends to distant parts of the earth. 23 "You, O king, saw a messenger, a holy one, coming down from heaven and saying, 'Cut down the tree and destroy it, but leave the stump, bound with iron and bronze, in the grass of the field, while its roots remain in the ground. Seven times will pass by for you until you acknowledge that the Most High is sovereign over the kingdoms of men and gives them to anyone he wishes. 26 The command to leave the stump of the tree with its roots means that your kingdom will be restored to you when you acknowledge that Heaven rules. 27 Therefore, O king, be pleased to accept my advice: Renounce your sins by doing what is right, and your wickedness by being kind to the oppressed. It may be that then your prosperity will continue." 28 All this happened to King Nebuchadnezzar. 29 Twelve months later, as the king was walking on the roof of the royal palace of Babylon, 30 he said, "Is not this the great Babylon I have built as the royal residence, by my mighty power and for the glory of my majesty?" 31 The words were still on his lips when a voice came from heaven, "This is what is decreed for you, King Nebuchadnezzar: Your royal authority has been taken from you. 32 You will be driven away from people and will live with the wild animals; you will eat grass like cattle. Seven times will pass by for you until you acknowledge that the Most High is sovereign over the kingdoms of men and gives them to anyone he wishes." 33 Immediately what had been said about Nebuchadnezzar was fulfilled. He was driven away from people and ate grass like cattle. His body was drenched with the dew of heaven until his hair grew like the feathers of an eagle and his nails like the claws of a bird. 34 At the end of that time, I, Nebuchadnezzar, raised my eyes toward heaven, and my sanity was restored. Then I praised the Most High; I honored and glorified him who lives forever. 35 All the peoples of the earth are regarded as nothing. He does as he pleases with the powers of heaven and the peoples of the earth. No one can hold back his hand or say to him: "What have you done?" 36 At the same time that my sanity was restored, my honor and splendor were returned to me for the glory of my kingdom. Where the Church is Going
In his book, Churchquake, page 5, Dr. Peter Wagner states that “the greatest change in the way of doing church since the Protestant Reformation is taking place before our very eyes. I have come to label this phenomenon the New Apostolic Reformation.”
Here is his definition of this:
“The New Apostolic Reformation is an extraordinary work of God at the close of the twentieth century, which is, to a significant extent, changing the shape of Protestant Christianity around the world. For almost 500 years Christian churches have largely functioned within traditional denominational structures of one kind or another. Particularly in the 1990s, but with roots going back for almost a century, new forms and operational procedures began to emerge in areas such as local church government, interchurch relationships, financing, evangelism, missions, prayer, leadership selection and training, the role of supernaural power, worship and other important aspects of church life. Some of these changes are being seen within denominations themselves, but for the most part thet are taking the form of loosley structured apostolic networks. In virtually evey region of the world, these new apostolic churches consititute the fastest growing segment of Christianity.”
In his book, Apostles, Prophets and the Coming Moves of God, page 107, Dr. Bill Hamon gives us a timeline of what he calls Restoration Movements:
1500 Protestant Movement Salvation by grace through faith. (Eph.2:8-9)
1600 Evangelical Movement Water baptism, separation of Church and state.
1700 Holiness Movement Sanctification, the Church set apart from the world.
1800 Faith Healing Movement Divine healing for the physical body, healing in the atonement.
1900 Pentecostal Movement Holy Spirit baptism with speaking in tongues, gifts of the Spirit.
1950 Latter Rain Movement Prophetic presbytery, singing praises and melodious worship.
1950 Deliverance Evangelism Evangelist ministry and mass evangelism reactivated.
1960 Charismatic Movement Renewal of all restored truth to all past movement churches. Pastors were restored to being sovereign head of their local churches.
1970 Faith Movement Faith confessions, prosperity and victorious attitude and life. Teacher ministry reestablished as a major fivefold minister.
1980 Prophetic Movement Prophetic, activating gifts, warfare praise, prophets to nations. Prophet ministry was restored and a company of prophets brought forth.
1990 Apostolic Movement Miraculous sings and wonders, apostolic ministry, and unity, great harvest of souls. Apostle ministry being restored to bring divine order and structure, finalize restoration of fivefold ministers.
2000 Saints Movement Ordinary believers are rising up to be part of the great harvest of souls.The purpose of God restoring the fivefold ministers is to have divine order to equip the saints for this final push. The major work of the Church will be done by these believers. Everyone is getting in the game.

Spiritual Gold
People are motivated in one of 2 ways: Positive or negative. I prefer the positive. I prefer to be motivated by the fact that there’s gold and I want to find it. The negative side is that I don’t want to be left out. There’s a gold rush going on and you don’t want to be left out. Kingdom Law—use it or lose it. The gold rush is the global harvest of souls.
The Torch is Being Passed
The loss of another leading Christian in the conservative movement poses concerns for the older generation of evangelicals, at least for one who sees America tipping at any moment either to the right or to the left. "We're in a very critical time in our nation where the pendulum could swing in one of two directions," said Dr. James Dobson, founder and chairman of Focus on the Family and one of the most influential conservative evangelicals, recently. "And so many of the things that we believe and have fought to defend are in question today."
Dobson made his comments recently at the public funeral service honoring the life of Dr. D. James Kennedy, founder of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church and Coral Ridge Ministries, who died at age 76. "What I will miss most from Jim Kennedy is his courage, his willingness to stand for the things that he believed," said Dobson, who said it was curious to him as to why God chose to take Kennedy when He did.
Kennedy's death follows that of many prominent, older evangelicals that have stood out as leaders defending biblical values and resonating the Word of God as absolute and inerrant. Widely respected Dr. Bill Bright, founder of Campus Crusade for Christ, and Dr. Jerry Falwell, who rallied conservatives to the political arena, are a few of those who have recently passed.
Other leaders who remain from that generation, including Chuck Colson, Pat Robertson and Billy Graham, are now at the point of having to pass the mantle down to the next generation. "Many giants of the Church are coming to the end of their journeys and are leaving this earth one by one," said Dobson, 71.
And now, "the passing of Dr. D. James Kennedy poses serious concerns about the future of the conservative Christian movement," he said, reading from what he had written recently when he heard news of Kennedy's death. "It’s senior leadership is undergoing a dramatic and inevitable change at this time."
Kennedy has been described as a man of his time who came on scene as an evangelical after World War II and viewed the United States as "a light on the hill," as Richard DeVos, co-founder of Amway Corporation and member of Coral Ridge Church, stated. Kennedy broadcasted messages nationwide defending traditional family values, condemning abortion and rejecting evolution. His messages currently reach 3.5 million people through radio, television, the Internet and print.
While critics have charged Kennedy of being political from the pulpit, Dobson defended the Presbyterian pastor saying "it wasn't politics he cared about; it was morality and righteousness." With Kennedy's death along with other evangelical giants, Dobson asked, "Who will defend the unborn child? Who’s going to fight for the institution of marriage which is on the ropes today? Who will teach young people the dangers of both heterosexual and homosexual promiscuity? Who in the next generation will be willing to take the heat when it is so much safer and more comfortable to avoid the controversial subjects? Who’s going to defend traditional morality and a culture that’s spinning into moral decline? Who will call sin by its name and lead a nation to repentance and holiness?"
Dr. Charles Stanley, 74, whose biblical messages are also broadcasted to millions of homes, understands Kennedy's death is a big loss for the whole body of Christ, not just the religious right, as he recently pointed out. But Stanley is confident a new generation will rise to pick up the torch. "God always raises up His servants to get His work done," he said in an interview with The Christian Post.
Stephen N. Tchividjian, grandson of Billy Graham, expressed willingness to carry on and pass on the legacy older evangelicals are leaving behind. "There’s a new generation being raised up to take the Gospel to the ends of the earth. And it’s with that that we stand here and with great hope and desire to carry on the legacy [and – with] each and every one of us having had that impact in our own lives and being charged by the Lord himself to do that – to pass it on to the next generation," said Tchividjian at the funeral service on Thursday. "There much work to be done," he noted. "You and I have been charged with that."
While wondering if the younger generation would heed the divine call of the Lord and be willing to die, if necessary, to defend the truth, Dobson said he believes new leaders will emerge in the next few years. "I pray that the Lord will anoint another generation of Jim Kennedys – courageous men and women who will never waver one inch in the defense of righteousness," he said. "May God help the younger generation carry on the work that Dr. Jim Kennedy did so aptly for more than half a century and I pray that the Gospel will continue to prosper in their hands."

Joshua 10 – A Day Like No Other
9 After an all-night march from Gilgal, Joshua took them by surprise. 10 The Lord threw them into confusion before Israel, who defeated them in a great victory at Gibeon. Israel pursued them along the road going up to Beth Horon and cut them down all the way to Azekah and Makkedah. 11 As they fled before Israel on the road down from Beth Horon to Azekah, the Lord hurled large hailstones down on them from the sky, and more of them died from the hailstones than were killed by the swords of the Israelites. 12 On the day the Lord gave the Amorites over to Israel, Joshua said to the Lord in the presence of Israel: "O sun, stand still over Gibeon, O moon, over the Valley of Aijalon." 13 So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, till the nation avenged itself on its enemies, 13 as it is written in the Book of Jashar. The sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day. 14 There has never been a day like it before or since, a day when the Lord listened to a man. Surely the Lord was fighting for Israel!

Leadership Lesson From the Life of Jerry Falwell
Numerous currents were coming to a head in the late seventies that few people could have foreseen, the catalyst being the 1973 pro-abortion decision. Jerry Falwell became the point man for an already growing number of Christian activists and organizations. His visibility allowed the numerous and less prominent groups to gain a constituency without the attendant publicity and hassle. No one predicted the development of this burgeoning Christian coalition, a coalition with no formal denominational ties. Neither was it specifically “fundamentalistic.”

Priests, Kings & Queens
The nation of Israel always functioned best when there were both kings and priests in place. Holy kings and spiritual priests created the synergy needed for the kingdom to move forward. One of the things that the modern Church is beginning to recognize is that just as someone can be anointed to preach or sing—someone can also be anointed for business. Revelation 1:6 says that God has "made us kings and priests". God ordained the duality of dominions. It's time for man to release what God has recognized. Just as we ordain pulpit ministers, it's time to ordain marketplace ministers. This has already been happening by cutting-edge leaders like me. It needs to be encouraged so people are released into their destinies. This is where the Church is going. It's a new paradigm, and we need to have no preconceptions.
